Corporate Responsibility

OHL's grant foundation allows OHL employees the opportunity to sponsor charitable organizations in their communities.

OHL believes in supporting and improving the communities in which we operate.  Our employees support hundreds of organizations with financial donations and by volunteering their time.  OHL is a corporate supporter of the United Way and has established the OHL Foundation to provide our employees the opportunity to sponsor select charities. Details on these programs are below.

United Way

OHL is a proud corporate supporter of United Way.  Our corporate office and all middle Tennessee locations conduct an annual Pace Setter campaign to assist the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville plan and budget for the upcoming calendar year.  Other OHL locations throughout the US conduct campaigns to support their local communities.  Scott McWilliams, OHL’s CEO, serves on the board of directors for the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville.

The OHL Foundation

OHL established a grant foundation for the purpose of making a difference in the lives of the residents in our communities.  The primary area of giving for the OHL Foundation is Education & Youth Development.  It is part of our corporate effort to help young people who face major obstacles in their lives to overcome these barriers and be successful.

Employees in the corporate office submit grant requests to the OHL Foundation and the foundation committee carefully determines which grant requests to fulfill.  In 2009, the OHL Foundation sponsored the following organizations:

  • AGAPE
  • American Cancer Society
  • Hands on Nashville
  • Hope & Life Ministries
  • McMurray Middle School (PENCIL Foundation Partner)
  • National Multiple Sclerosis Society
  • Red Cross
  • Second Harvest
  • VSA arts of Tennessee
